Softshell Crab with Pasta Recipe

Ingredients
For the Crabs:

4 softshell crabs, cleaned
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
For the Pasta:

12 oz (340 g) spaghetti or linguine
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1/2 cup white wine
1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
1 lemon, zested and juiced
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions
Cook the Pasta:

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
Prepare the Softshell Crabs:

In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
Dredge each crab in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat.
Add the crabs to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Prepare the Sauce:

In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the cherry tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
Pour in the white wine and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly reduced.
Add the lemon zest and juice, stirring to combine.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Combine Pasta and Sauce:

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
Stir in the chopped parsley.
Serve:

Divide the pasta among four plates.
Place one softshell crab on top of each serving of pasta.
Garnish with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.
