Nassau County GOP District Attorney Anne Donnelly announced on Wednesday afternoon that her office had opened an investigation into the politician’s fabrications made before his November midterm election victory in New York. The local investigation was first reported by Newsday.

Aside from his resume, the Republican has other concerns, including the source of his newly acquired financial fortune, despite recent cash flow issues, such as evictions and owing thousands in back rent.
According to CBS News, in addition to the newly announced local investigation, federal prosecutors with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York are looking into Santos’ finances and financial disclosures.
‘Santos will be gone by the end of his term, if not sooner. ‘He should resign,’ said Democratic New York Rep. Ritchie Torres in response to the news.
He also admitted that despite previously claiming to have received a degree from Baruch in 2010, he never graduated from any college.
