Henry Martin set the tone with a goal in the second minute and Mexico never looked back as it cruised to a 3-0 victory over Jamaica on Wednesday in a CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinals match in Las Vegas.

Luis Chavez found the back of the net in the 30th minute and Roberto Alvarado put the match away with a goal in the third minute of second-half stoppage time as Mexico advanced to the final for the second straight Gold Cup. The Mexicans lost 1-0 to the United States in 2021.

Mexico will travel to Inglewood, Calif., on Sunday for this year’s final to face Panama, which beat the U.S. in a penalty kick shootout earlier Wednesday night in the other semifinal.

Guillermo Ochoa finished with three saves en route to recording the clean sheet for Mexico, while Andre Blake made a pair of stops for the Jamaicans.

Jamaica had a chance to pull within a goal in the first couple minutes of second-half stoppage time, but it came up empty on a pair of opportunities. With his team trailing 2-0 in the 91st minute, Leon Bailey sent a left-footed shot toward the goal that missed the top left corner of the net, and Demarai Gray missed a header a minute later to effectively seal Jamaica’s fate.

Alvarado then silenced any chance of a comeback with his late goal.
