Pavel Bucha scored an early goal for FC Cincinnati, which played to a 1-1 draw against visiting Tigres UANL on Tuesday in the opening leg of a CONCACAF Champions Cup round of 16 series.

After Bucha put the hosts ahead in the third minute, Nicolas Ibanez tallied for Tigres in the 17th minute.

The two-game, total-goal series will conclude March 11 at San Nicolas de los Garza, Mexico.

FC Cincinnati stole the ball deep in Tigres’ end to set up the early goal. After some slick passing at the top of Tigres’ 18-yard box, Bucha fired a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner of the net.

Tigres pulled level when Ibanez headed in a cross from Sebastian Cordova, who ran down a pass near the end line on the left side and lofted the ball to the far post.

Los Angeles FC 3, Crew 0

Denis Bouanga scored two highlight-reel goals as host Los Angeles rolled to a win over Columbus in the first leg of a CONCACAF Champions Cup round of 16 match.

Nathan Ordaz added a late tally for LAFC, who will take a sizable advantage to Columbus for the second leg on March 11.

Bouanga opened the scoring with an individual effort in the 20th minute. He stole the ball deep in Crew territory, dribbled in on his own, rounded goalie Patrick Schulte and rolled the ball into the net.

Just after halftime, Bouanga dribbled into the left side of the Crew’s 18-yard box and chipped a right-footed shot over Schulte’s head and inside the far post.

Ordaz scored on a 14-yard volley off a corner kick in the 81st minute.
