Early Sunday, police in Washington D.C. said that a suspect had thrown explosive devices that were in Molotov-cocktail style outside three business establishments. The incidents followed each other within a span of a quarter of an hour. The Metropolitan Police said that the incidents took place in northeast Washington D.C., and that no one had been injured. However, the businesses in each of the locations suffered damage.
Police said that the suspect had targeted the businesses and not people as each of the targeted shops was closed during the time of detonation.
The first detonation of a device took place at the sidewalk at 4.30 a.m., just outside an ATM belonging to Truist Bank located at 2300 block of Washington Place. The suspect set off the device on the sidewalk and drove away. Six minutes later a similar incident took place, though this time the business targeted was a Nike store on H street, which is close by.

Finally, the suspect flung a Molotov cocktail style object at a Safeway store, located on 40th street. The time was approximately 4.45 a.m. The suspect drove away from the D.C. location.
Police have released details about the suspect(s) and their vehicle as they think there could be more than one person involved. The getaway car is a gold or champagne colored Acura TL. It has a Maryland plate and the number is 17971CK.
The Metropolitan Police Department and the Washington Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating the incident. Both the departments are offering a reward of up to $10,000 each for information that could lead to an arrest and a conviction. No suspect or suspects have been arrested, as yet.
