Anderson Lee Aldrich, the Colorado gay club shooter, previously changed their name and now identifies as non-binary, using they/them pronouns. Aldrich, 22, is accused of murdering five people and injuring others at Club Q on Saturday; in the meantime, it was disclosed that their father is a porn actor known as ‘Dick Delaware.’
The suspect’s given name is Nicholas Franklin Brink. In 2016, their mother, biological grandmother, and step-grandfather petitioned to change their name to Anderson Lee Aldrich. Aaron Brink is said to have abandoned Aldrich’s mother when Anderson was a newborn, before turning to MMA and porn under the identity ‘Dick Delaware.’
In 2009, he also participated in the reality shows Divorce Court and Intervention, when his fiancée reportedly tried to encourage him to stop consuming crystal meth, according to the New York Post. Brink has a lengthy criminal past, including convictions for violence against the alleged shooter’s mother, Laura Voepel, the state and federal court records said. A misdemeanor battery conviction in California in 2002 resulted in a protective order that initially prohibited the suspect’s father, Brink, from seeing the suspect or his mother without the assistance of an attorney, but was later changed to allow monitored meetings with the child.
According to public records, the father was also sentenced to two and a half years in prison for marijuana importation and for violating his supervised release requirements by testing positive for illegal steroids while on supervised release. Brink has a professional MMA record of 29 wins and 27 losses in the UFC and other fighting contests. At a party, a producer pushed him to perform porn and he began starring in films in 2002. After a lengthy absence, he returned to the adult industry in 2019.
The Colorado shooter’s dad on finding out his son murdered people: “They started telling me about the incident, a shooting… And then I go on to find out it’s a gay bar. I got scared, ‘Shit, is he gay?’ And he’s not gay, so I said, phew… I am a conservative Republican.†(@CBS8) pic.twitter.com/7Zw4vpLtjE

On Saturday, bloodshed and mayhem erupted at Club Q, with five people killed and others injured in the attack. Aldrich is set to face five counts of bias-motivated crime causing bodily harm in addition to five counts of murder.
