Clippers PG John Wall (abdomen) to miss at least two weeks

Los Angeles Clippers point guard John Wall missed Sunday’s game against the Houston Rockets and will be sidelined for at least two weeks due to an abdominal injury.

Wall was injured while dunking in the fourth quarter of Friday’s 115-103 loss to the Denver Nuggets.

“I haven’t jumped like that when somebody contested me in probably like three years, to be honest,” said Wall, who played in just 40 total games in the previous three seasons. “… I think I just stretched it as much as I could when I dunked it.”

Wall, who has played in 34 games this season, will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

The five-time All-Star is averaging 11.4 points and 5.2 assists a game this season. He has career averages of 18.7 points and 8.9 assists in 11 seasons, the first nine with the Washington Wizards. He also played for the Houston Rockets in 2020-21 before not playing last season.

Wall’s injury adds to the health woes of the Clippers.

Star forward Paul George (hamstring) missed his fifth straight game Sunday, and guard Luke Kennard (calf) missed his fourth in a row. Forward Marcus Morris Sr. (knee) also was held out.

Reggie Jackson, who recently was demoted from the rotation, was back in the mix Sunday as the backup point guard because Wall was sidelined.
