The film “Challengers” is an American romantic steamy sports comedy-drama directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by Justin Kuritzkes. The movie features Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist in leading roles. The plot revolves around a Grand Slam tennis champion who enters a challenger event to battle against his wife’s previous lover and coach.
Tashi, a former tennis player now a coach, has elevated her husband from an average player to a globally renowned grand slam champion. She prompts him to participate in a challenger event, one of the lower-tier tournaments on the professional circuit, to break his losing run. Tensions escalate when he faces off against Patrick, his former best buddy and Tashi’s ex-boyfriend, who was once promising but is now burnt out.
The film “Challengers” is set to be released in the United States on April 26, 2024, by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios.
