Celine Dion was scheduled to tour North America for her ‘Courage’ world tour. However, the tour from March 9 to April 2022 has been canceled as the superstar singer is suffering from “severe and persistent muscle spasms,” according to her website. The news was also announced on Saturday, on Twitter. The 53-year old singer had canceled a Las Vegas comeback residency due to a similar medical issue, three months back.
The press release stated that tickets that had been purchased with a credit card through authorized ticketing outlets would be automatically refunded to the card that was used for purchase. It also said that ticket holders would get additional details through email. It also asked them to reach out to the place from where they had purchased their tickets.
In a statement, the singer said that she had hoped to start on her tour but she had to listen to the advice from her doctors and that she couldn’t wait to be “back on stage again.” She said that there was a lot of “organizing and preparation” that went on in a show. So, they had to make a decision at this point in time.
The European leg of her tour which is expected to start on May 5, in Birmingham, England, is on schedule.
The Grammy winner also said that she was moved by all the courage and support that she had received on social media and said that their love and support “means the world to me.”
Last October, the French-Canadian singer postponed her Las Vegas residency, due to a similar reason of “muscle spasms.” In 2003, she had a fantastic residency in Vegas at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace with an iconic 16-year presence. Celine Dion has not set a timeline for her return to Resorts World, in Las Vegas, The November 5 debut was supposed to run till February 5 but was also canceled due to similar health issues.
As Celine Dion continues to get treatment our prayers and best wishes will go on till she recovers.
