Celebrity British singer Zayn Malik and his ex-supermodel Gigi Hadid and her mother Yolanda Hadid were in an awful spat in 2021, where he allegedly shoved Yolanda. He pleaded “no contest” to four counts and only released a blanket statement at that time. Finally, the former One Direction singer has candidly discussed the incident in an interview, about two years after the incident took place.
The celebrity singer was interviewed by Alex Cooper on the podcast called Call Her Daddy. He finally shared his thoughts about the ugly incident in detail and the reason behind his “no contest” plea in October 2021. This plea is equal to a guilty plea without admitting guilt.
On the Wednesday July 12 episode of the podcast Zayn Malik said, “I knew what the situation was, I knew what happened and the people involved knew what happened too.”
He continued by saying that he hadn’t wanted “to bring attention to anything” and did not want a “negative back and forth.”
He noted that he didn’t want a “narrative online” that could be read into by his daughter when she grew up in. He said that “it would just be something, there was no point.”
He also said that if any incident happened in the family, he would prefer to keep the incident within the family and there was no need for “a whole audience of people.”
Celebrity Zain Malik also noted that he and his ex-Victoria’s Secret model Gigi Hadid are now in a “really good relationship” as they co-parent their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter Khai. She was born in 2022. Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid had been dating on and off for six years before the fight that took place in their home in Pennsylvania.
Zayn Malik said that he looks after their daughter Khai 50 percent of the time and there’s no additional supervision. He mentioned that he was a “hands-on” dad and if he got 60 percent custody while Gigi Hadid got 40 percent, he would take that as well.
