Celebrity Zack Snyder’s film Rebel Moon—Part 1: A Child of Fire has been scheduled for a mid-December release in select theaters across the nation, followed by streaming on Netflix. The streaming platform is set to release one of its most expensive films, Rebel Moon, this holiday season after its one-week theatrical debut. Many web fans are waiting for its release.

Celebrity director Zack Snyder had first pitched this film to Disney, but it was ultimately picked up by Netflix. The popular streaming platform felt that it was too big for a single film as originally conceived by Snyder. The director and the platform agreed to make the film in two parts, and Rebel Moon—Part 1: A Child of Fire—will have a theatrical release followed by a Netflix release, while Part 2 of Rebel Moon has the title The Scargiver with a scheduled April 19, 2024 release.

The epic sci-fi fantasy film details the story of Kora, who is a rebel soldier. Celebrity Sofia Boutella stars as the lone wolf who settles down on Veldt, a quiet farming moon. However, the Imperium’s regent Balisarius orders Admiral Atticus Noble to stir up trouble on Veldt.

Kora becomes rebellious and fights against the tyrannical regent with a team of warriors, each of whom has to heal and find a place to belong. Celebrity Zack Snyder has described these warriors as “misfits.”

Celebrity director Snyder, who is known for blockbusters such as 300 and Man of Steel, has combined an action movie filled with guns, weapons, and more with emotions as well. The warriors, especially Kora, consider Veldt to be their home and want to protect it as they think that it is worth dying for or fighting hard enough to live on.

Many web fans can look forward to December releases from Netflix, including new episodes of the popular series The Crown. Another much-anticipated one is Dawn of the Nugget, a sequel to Chicken Run. Rebel Moon Part 1: A Child of Fire will be released from December 15–21 in 70 mm in select theaters and on December 22, 2023, on Netflix.
