American actress and television producer, celebrity Vivica Anjanetta Fox, has stated that Jada Pinkett Smith took ‘no accountability’ over her husband Will Smith’s Oscars slap.
The actress stated on Thursday’s episode of The Wendy Williams that Jada took “no accountability” for her role in the event on Wednesday’s Red Table Talk. Fighting back tears as she recalled Jada’s comments about her husband’s emotional outburst at the Academy Awards this year, saying that she wished there was a little more responsibility and it did not seem so self-righteous on Jada’s behalf.
During a “Red Table Talk” this week, celebrity Jada, whose shaved head was the butt of Rock’s Academy Awards joke that enraged Will Smith, urged the two men to talk it out and reconcile. The “Kill Bill” star slammed her statements as “cold” and “self-righteous” on the Wendy Williams Show” on Thursday.
Fox then explained why she believed Jada, 50, was involved in the altercation, which occurred when Rock made a joke about Jada’s shaved head, prompting Will to walk onstage and strike the comedian.
The actress stated that Will was defending her dignity and that was why he went on stage and slapped the comedian. He did so because he thought his wife was hurt, so Fox feels she sees no accountability as a partner. She also felt that Rock’s joke was not “that bad.”
Fox said that she had anticipated that in the aftermath of the event, the couple would take more responsibility for the public behavior.
Jada addressed the audience directly during Wednesday’s Red Table Talk, saying, her deepest wish was that will and Chris can heal, hash it out, and reconcile. With the status of the world today, both of them are needed, and everybody needs one another more than ever, the Girls Trip star concluded.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences barred Will Smith from future ceremonies and related events for ten years after he slapped Chris Rock onstage during the March ceremony when the comedian made a joke about Jada’s appearance. The actress suffers from alopecia.
Celebrity Will, who went on to win Best Actor for his work in King Richard, has publicly apologized to Rock, claiming he “reacted emotionally” because the “joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to handle.”
