In his caption, Pennington revealed, “Sunday I hit the red carpet for @barbiethemovie, Monday I flew to Colorado to start filming, and Tuesday morning I woke up at 4 am and could barely breathe.” The cause of his distress turned out to be an abscess that had grown so large it was closing off his airway. He was intubated and flown to the ICU in Denver, where he underwent surgery.
Thankfully, Pennington’s condition improved, and he was recently released from the ICU.
