Celebrity television stars Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari and Stephen Colletti publicly reunited for the first time since they their Laguna Beach days, for Stephen and Kristin’s rewatch podcast, Back to the Beach.
On the podcast, Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari got back together to discuss lots of things concerning Laguna Beach, MTV’s reality TV series following a group of high schoolers. Kristin Cavallari and Lauren Conrad had been locked in a multi-season (and heavily edited) dispute over Stephen Colletti.
Stephen Colletti was joined by the former reality show co-stars for Cavallari and Colletti’s “Back to the Beach” rewatch podcast, which provides a current-day overview of the series. Conrad, who was the guest this week, admitted to binge-watching the MTV series when she and Covid were homesick.
The group clarified the truth about what actually transpired during the production of the reality series, which debuted in 2004. Lauren, who hardly ever discusses her work in reality television, bared all, spilling the beans on the iconic love triangle on the program, her unaired secret relationship, and the sequence she really did not want to shoot.
Conrad, who had never seen a single complete episode of the series, remarked, that watching it was so much worse than he had anticipated it would be. He felt it was quite embarrassing. Calling Cavallari a “slut” for dancing in the bar during the show’s controversial first season cast trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, ranks #1 on Lauren’s list of cringe-worthy moments. She said his biggest regret was calling her by the name, and apologized profusely to Cavallari, who acknowledged receiving it.
Cavallari also acknowledged that she had also said some very terrible stuff and expressed guilt for calling her former co-star by the same moniker in a different episode.
Both parties acknowledged that their dispute had an element of truth, but they also agreed that the cameras had kept it alive and made it a lot worse than it ever would have been. Although MTV showed Colletti having relationships with both women at the same time, he claims they never overlapped.
After three seasons, “Laguna Beach” came to an end in 2006; neither Conrad nor Cavallari appeared in the last episode. The Hills, a spinoff that first portrayed Conrad’s life in Los Angeles, would eventually feature both of them as its stars. Conrad was eventually replaced by Cavallari midway through the fifth season of the show, but the two never shared screen time. Since then, Conrad has established a number of businesses, married William Tell, and begun a family. The couple and their two sons are back in Laguna Beach, California.

While all was going on, celebrity Cavallari made a comeback to reality television with her three-season E! series “Very Cavallari,” which starred her then-husband, football player Jay Cutler. The former couple, who have three kids together, separated after ten years of marriage and announced their divorce in 2020.
