Celebrity tennis champion Martina Navratilova, who won 59 Grand Slam titles, announced that she is free of cancer. Earlier this year, Martina revealed that she was diagnosed with both throat and breast cancer. The champion declared the news of her being “cancer-free” during an interview with Piers Morgan on Piers Morgan Uncensored, his TalkTV show. She explained that her doctors pronounced her throat clear and breast cancer.
According to interview excerpts reported by The Sun, Navratilova claimed that after learning of the dual diagnoses, she experienced “total panic” for three days and believed she would not make it to the following Christmas. Although she still needs to complete her prophylactic radiation treatments, she assured Morgan that, as far as they are aware, she is cancer-free. Navratilova provided information in clips from “Piers Morgan Uncensored” about her diagnosis and subsequent fight with two cancers.
During her tennis career, she bagged 59 Grand Slam titles — 18 singles, 31 doubles and 10 mixed doubles. Martina claimed that her upbringing in the Communist-run Czech Republic made her resilient. But she claimed that her battle with cancer was the hardest thing she had ever experienced. She explained, “Giving up, giving in, or stopping has just never been a choice” for her. She also admitted that her pals had sent her songs to lift her spirits.

The “Real Housewives of Miami” star Julia Lemigova, Navratilova’s wife, frequently provided reports on her husband’s health.
