The police said the unnamed suspected stalker would remain in custody until Taylor Swift completed her shows in Germany.
The suspected stalker had a valid ticket for the pop star’s Wednesday concert at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen. The police released a statement saying the 34-year-old man was detained during entry checks as they couldn’t entirely rule out a risk. The police said that a local court had passed an order that the suspected stalker should be kept in detention until Saturday.
The unnamed 34-year-old American has reportedly threatened both Taylor Swift and her partner, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, on social media. Travis Kelce was spotted in a suite in the arena on Wednesday. The police said that the stalker had been detained after they received tips from the event’s organizers.
Taylor Swift’s concert on Wednesday was not only successful but also peaceful. The police said there was no threat to Taylor Swift or her web fans. About 60,000 Swifties, as her fans are called, attended the concert.
Taylor Swift received a warm welcome from the city of Gelsenkirchen. The city temporarily named itself Swiftkirchen and honored her on a “Walk of Fame,” an honor the city bestows on local celebrities.
