Taylor Swift wore jewelry with a quote from basketball player Kobe Bryant, and Vanessa responded sweetly to the necklace she wore.
Vanessa Bryant shared a photo of Taylor Swift wearing jewelry from Mambacita, the nonprofit founded by Vanessa in honor of basketball legend Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant. Vanessa lost her husband and young daughter when their helicopter fatally crashed in January 2020. Kobe Bryant was 41 years old while Gianna was 13 when they lost their lives in the horrific accident.
Vanessa Bryant shared a photo of Taylor Swift wearing a round pendant from the jewelry collection. It featured the following words: “Bet on yourself” surrounded by a circle of stones (diamonds). Vanessa Bryant added the caption “Love you” to her social media post, followed by heart emojis and “Swifties” stickers.
Celebrity Taylor Swift also seemingly referenced the late Kobe Bryant in her article in TIME magazine when she was named Person of the Year. She had said, “Ultimately, I did what I tend to do more and more often these days, which is to bet on myself.”
Vanessa Bryant also shared a screenshot of the TIME article. Once again, she wrote, “Love you.”
The two famous and highly talented Americans—Taylor Swift and Kobe Bryant, have had a deep bond. In 2015, Kobe Bryant surprised Taylor Swift during her 1989 Tour stop at her concert at the Lakers Arena in Los Angeles. The LA Lakers legend presented her with a championship banner. Kobe Bryant posted on social media, “Friends hang from time to time, but banners hang forever,” and tagged Taylor Swift.
During Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert in August 2023 in Los Angeles, she presented Kobe and Vanessa Bryant’s six-year-old daughter Bianka the “22” hat during the show. Her concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, also featured this.
