When Taylor Swift was on stage at the 2024 Grammys to accept Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights, she announced the new album called The Tortured Poets Department. She won her 13th Grammy, and she considers 13 to be a lucky number, so her web fans were hoping for and expecting an announcement.
The Black Dog is the fourth variant in The Tortured Poets. It follows The Manuscript, The Bolter, and the Albatross, the other three variants. Taylor had shared the album’s 16-song (plus bonus track) list earlier. It also includes features from Post Malone and Florence + the Machine.
In February, when she performed to record-breaking audiences in Melbourne, Taylor Swift shared how she needed to make TTPD. She described it as “a lifeline” and said the album reminded her “why songwriting was something that gets me through life.”
Taylor Swift is currently performing in Singapore. She has strong ties to the island nation through her mother, who spent some of her formative years in Singapore. Swift will take a two-month break after Singapore and is expected to wrap up the album.
Taylor Swift will return to Europe on the leg of her Eras Tour in May, where she will perform in Paris, France.
