Some celebrity stars dressed in the heights of Paris haute couture said they wore jewelry from eBay. Some web fans were thrilled that their favorite stars shop on the same e-commerce platform. Celebrity stars name-dropped eBay as the source from where they picked some of their upcycled accessories when they were interviewed on the red carpet.
Vogue live-streamed the red carpet event, considered “fashion’s biggest night out.” The magazine mentioned that eBay and Porsche presented the Met Gala livestream. Red carpet host La La Anthony mentioned that her jewelry was from eBay. She wore a red and black gown with long earrings and a stone ring.
Celebrity actress and model Madeline Cline also gave a shoutout to eBay and said that she was also wearing jewelry from eBay.
The e-commerce marketplace has partnered with Vogue for the Met Gala red carpet and a new ad to promote fashion, vintage jewelry, and more.
Cline is the model who promotes “pre-loved items” in an ad shot for eBay. The ad was shown live on the Met Gala Vogue. In the advertisement, she wears preloved items sourced from eBay, including bracelets, rings, hoop earrings, and more.
The Association of National Advertisers ANA reported that eBay was looking to engage with Gen Z to show the e-commerce platform as a “go-to fashion destination” and not only a general marketplace for e-commerce.
E-commerce platform eBay saw an excellent holiday quarter as customer spending on its refurbished goods was strong. It last posted earnings on Wednesday, May 1. The quarter results topped analysts’ consensus estimates in both earnings and revenue. It also reported a dividend to be paid on June 14 and said that it had initiated a stock buyback plan. CWEB analysts rate eBay stock as buy or hold.
