Celebrity model Sofia Richie revealed on social media that she has converted to Judaism. The daughter of legendary singer Lionel Richie converted just before her upcoming marriage to Elliot Grainge. Sofia and Elliot have known each other for years as their fathers are friends. The model and the music executive were engaged this month, last year.
On Monday, celebrity Sofia Richie shared a photo on social media. She looked happy as she sat on a chair with a pen in her hand as she appeared to look up into a camera. There was a document on the desk in front of her.
The model posed for the photo wearing a simple cream-colored top. However, it was her caption that garnered a lot of interest from fans and others. It read: “What a magical day. I want to thank cantor Nathan Lam for helping me along this journey of converting to Judaism. It has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. Today was that day!!!” Sofia added five Star of David emojis after the text.

Sofia Richie was raised Christian. She attended a school called Oaks Christian School for a few years. The school is located in Westlake Village, California. Elliot Grainge was raised Jewish. He became a bar mitzvah, in his early years.
The son of Universal Music Group chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge and the daughter of legendary singer Lionel Richie starting dating earlier, reportedly in 2021 but confirmed their engagement in April 2022.
