The Colombian-American singer shared a post on social media announcing her departure from Barcelona, Spain. She is expected to move to Miami, Florida with her two sons. While Gerard Piqué recently shared publicly that he is in a relationship with Clara Chia, Shakira channeled her grief and anger after their split into music that hit the charts and broke records.
Shakira posted on social media that she was leaving Barcelona, Spain with her two sons “in search of their happiness.” In her long post in Spanish, she thanked the people and her fans for their support and also spoke of her fond memories of the city.
Spanish media outlet suggested that there could also be other reasons that played a part in her departure from Spain. According to a report from Dario AS which mentioned Barcelona’s newspaper LaVanguardia’s report, the father of Gerard Piqué, served an eviction notice to Shakira.

Shakira was staying with her children at a mansion located on the outskirts of Barcelona. According to the settlement reached by Gerard Pique and Shakira, as per the terms of settlement after their separation, the property was passed on to Gerard Piqué ‘s father.

The outlet reported that Shakira received a letter from Joan Piqué that said that she had to leave the mansion by the end of April, failing which she would face a hefty fine. This has also been considered as a reason why Shakira is leaving Barcelona and is expected to settle in Miami.
