Celebrity Shakira recently broke a record set by Taylor Swift, according to a popular outlet. Popular outlet Marca reported that Shakira became the first female performer to sell out five consecutive stadium performances in Mexico. Earlier, celebrity Taylor Swift sold out four consecutive performances during her Eras Tour at the same Mexican stadium, Estadio GNP Seguros, in Mexico City. The Colombian singer is reportedly performing five shows due to ticket demands from web fans.
Shakira thanked her web fans for her sold-out shows. She expressed her gratitude and happiness for the great response from her fans to her upcoming Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, named after her latest studio album that means Women Don’t Cry. The tour will begin in early February in Latin America.
According to the report, Shakira reportedly posted on social media, “Mexico dear, five dates at the Estadio GNP. We broke the record.”
Earlier, Shakira was supposed to perform at four shows at the stadium in Mexico. However, due to a huge demand for tickets from web fans, she added a fifth show and created a new record at the stadium. The Estadio GNP Seguros’ website states that the Mexico City stadium can accommodate 65,000 people at a time at concert events.
On Monday, Shakira posted on social media that there were new dates for her North American tour. The dates have been changed as her performances have been shifted from arenas to stadiums in North America due to an increased demand for tickets.
Shakira told her web fans she was “excited to share my best show yet” with them. She also expressed her gratitude for their support and inspiration. She signed off the post by saying she couldn’t wait to celebrate with them in May.
Many fans expressed their disappointment that shows were canceled as they had to wait for days to get refunds from Ticketmaster. They also lost money on hotel bookings, flight tickets, and other expenses. However, some fans who could not get tickets earlier were happy with the new dates and locations.
