Celebrity Scarlett Johansson is stressing after a California court recently dismissed a restraining order the Marvel actor had brought against an obsessive fan. A popular outlet obtained court documents and reported on the dismissal. The fan has been harassing her for more than one and a half years and even followed a neighbor, thinking she is Scarlett.
The Blast saw court documents that detailed the stalking by the fan. The fan is named as Michael Joseph Branham. He has been harassing them since August 2022 and continued to do so till she filed a restraining order in November 2023.
According to the petition, he said he was the biological father of one of Scarlett Johansson’s two children. He believes that he is the father of her son Cosmo and wants to visit both of them. He also asked for financial support and said he had to steal as he did not have funds. He asked the actor to forgive him.
In the early days of stalking, Branham allegedly left articles in front of Scarlett Johansson’s home. These included notes as well as a kid’s toy.
Scarlett Johansson hired a private detective to follow him, and he unearthed some of the facts mentioned in the petition.
The outlet reported that court documents show that the Superior Court of California ruled that it was forced to dismiss Scarlett Johansson’s plea asking for protection due to a technical issue. Her lawyer had not sent the papers to her alleged obsessive fan.
The Black Widow actor’s attorney, Michael Goldstein, said he could not serve the papers.
Celebrity Scarlett Johansson is not the only celebrity harassed by obsessive fans. Record-breaking singer Taylor Swift has also been harassed by fans, who have even broken into or tried to break into her homes in New York and Nashville.
