Celebrity Russell Crowe was honored at the 57th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival’s opening ceremony, in Central Europe for both acting and singing skills. The multi-talented performer accepted a lifetime achievement award and performed with his band, to a packed audience at the concert on Friday. On Saturday, the award-winning star spoke on various topics including current and future hits and misses. He also said that he was not a “political spokesperson” but commented that the suppression of women was not good for anyone.
On Friday, Russell Crowe received a Crystal Globe award from the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Other celebrity stars who received honors from Karlovy Vary this year include Alicia Vikander, Ewan McGregor and Robin Wright. Veteran independent film producer Christine Vachon is also receiving homage from the film festival.
On Friday evening, Russell Crowe and his band Indoor Garden Party performed live and got the crowd rocking and grooving outdoors in a town square, during the Czech film festival. He not only shared his music but also shared anecdotes of his cinematic journey in Hollywood.

During a press conference on Saturday, he spoke in length about various issues. When asked about the suppression of women in Iran, he said that he was not a “political spokesperson” but reiterated his views on women saying that his thoughts were that women needed to be respected and to have the freedom to make their own choices and more.
He also spoke about his journey in the film industry and how he kept getting questions about Gladiator 2, a film which he was not a part of. His Oscar winning award character Maximus in Gladiator ended up “dead” and “that’s that.”
He spoke in length about a musical documentary called The Last Breath on which he had been working for several years and his mixed emotions on rejecting the role of Johnny Cash in Walk the Line and more.
Celebrity Russell Crowe mentioned that his next project was the movie called Nuremberg which got gasps from the audience, and he also shared that he played the role of Hermann Goring. The talented actor also said that he had completed four movies.
