Celebrity rocker Tommy Lee of Motley Crue has been sued by a Jane Doe for allegedly assaulting her in a helicopter. The Friday lawsuit says that the Motley Crue drummer assaulted her when the helicopter was flying over California. The incident allegedly took place two decades ago, according to a report by a popular outlet.
Rolling Stone, who saw the lawsuit, said that the woman identified as Jane Doe said that the incident had taken place in the cockpit of the helicopter. She accused celebrity drummer Tommy Lee of “forcibly groping, kissing, and penetrating her with his fingers, and attempting to force her to perform oral copulation.”
The alleged sexual assault took place in February 2003 when the helicopter was flying between San Diego County and Van Nuys, California.
The lawsuit filed in Los Angeles also said that the woman had met pilot David Martz in 2002. She was working as a teller in a San Diego bank where he was a customer. They became friends and occasionally met for lunch at a restaurant called Casa Machado.
The outlet also said that the suit claimed that David Martz invited her for a helicopter ride. She initially hesitated but later agreed as she had never taken a ride in a helicopter before. She met him at an airfield in early 2003.
The woman said that she thought that she would be taken on a sightseeing trip around San Diego county. However, she was told that there was a change in plan and she and Martz would be flying to Los Angeles with Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee.
She said that although she refused a drink, Martz and Lee drank alcohol, smoked marijuana, and snorted cocaine during the flight. She was also pressurized to sit on Tommy Lee’s lap in the cockpit, and he became “more forceful” when she attempted to resist his sexual assault.
She also said that Martz watched and did not attempt to help her, and they flew back to San Diego after dropping celebrity rocker Tommy Lee in Van Nuys.
She said that she thought it was an isolated event and her case would not be considered seriously but has now realized that David Martz and Tommy Lee had a “history of engaging in indecent and illegal conduct on Martz’s helicopter.”
According to Rolling Stone, the complaint alleges “sexual assault, gender violence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence.” It seeks past, present, and future damages. It has been filed against Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, Mayhem Touring, Tommy Lee Inc., A Natural High Helicopter, and Social Helicopters.
