Celebrity Florida rapper Charles Jones was shot on Sunday. The Jacksonville, Florida, rapper, who goes by the stage name Julio Foolio, was killed during birthday celebrations this weekend in Tampa, Florida. The fatal shooting was confirmed by the Tampa Police, Foolio’s long-term attorney, and girlfriend on social media.
Tampa Police said that the shooting took place at around 4.40 a.m. Jonée Lewis, public information officer for the Tampa Police Department, said that “two cars were shot at,” according to early investigations. The shooting took place in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn, located at the intersection of Fowler Avenue and McKinley Drive.
Lewis also said that one person named Charles Jones was killed at the scene. However, the medical examiner has not as yet released an identification of the 26-year-old who was fatally shot, as per the police. Three other victims who were shot have been taken to local hospitals. They are expected to recover from their injuries.
Julio Foolio’s birthday celebrations began at an Airbnb over the weekend but moved to the Holiday Inn. He booked a room in the hotel after being asked to evacuate the Airbnb as too many people were in the residence. The rapper was shot in the parking lot of the hotel.
Lewis Fusco, long-term attorney of Charles Jones, confirmed to Action News Jax that he was a long-term attorney of Jones and that the rapper “was shot and killed in Tampa.”
Fusco also said that he could only confirm that Jones “was killed outside of a Holiday Inn” hotel while celebrating his birthday in Tampa this weekend. He was ambushed at the parking lot of the Holiday Inn. He had booked a room at the hotel after being asked to leave an Airbnb as too many people were in the residence.
Blanco Mani, the girlfriend of rapper Julio Foolio, posted on social media that the rapper had died, and web fans poured in condolences. She said that he had died after he celebrated his birthday. She posted a photo of that night. However, she then made the post private.
