According to news sources, celebrity pop singer Britney Spears’ estranged father Jamie Spears, 71, had his leg amputated and is currently recuperating
The illness that necessitated five surgeries during a protracted hospital stay last month was the reason for the limb’s removal. Sources tell TMZ that he lost his leg as a result of the infection not being contained by any of those surgeries. Jamie Spears had five unsuccessful surgeries to try to ward off the infection; unfortunately, doctors decided they would need to proceed was amputation.

The announcement was made two months after Page Six first revealed that the older Spears was “seriously ill” and had been admitted and discharged from hospitals, including one that treated patients with contagious diseases.
He had reportedly “lost more than 25 pounds” at the time, according to various sources, while battling health problems following a knee surgery in the middle of the 2000s, the outlet reported.
