Celebrity Patrick Mahomes is extremely upset about recent break-ins in his and his Kansas City Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce’s homes. The quarterback expressed his frustration and disappointment on Wednesday. Burglars targeted both the Chiefs’ star players’ homes outside Kansas City.
On Wednesday, November 13, Mahomes told reporters, “Obviously it’s frustrating, disappointing. I can’t get into too many details because the investigation is ongoing. But obviously, it’s something that you don’t want to happen to anybody but yourself.”
Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were not at home when the break-ins occurred. However, they happened one after the other: Mahomes’s home was broken into on October 6, in the early hours of the morning, while Kelce’s home was broken into on October 7.
NBC affiliate KSHB 41 reported that authorities in Cass County and Leawood have been investigating burglaries in the homes of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, star NFL players and Super Bowl winners.
According to a report obtained by the outlet, the Sheriff’s Department deputies received a call after midnight on October 6 about a break-in at a residence owned by Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick and his wife, Brittany Mahomes. The report said there was no sign of forced entry, but no information about the suspects or property taken has been released.
KSHB 41 also reported that a Leawood police face sheet they obtained reported a burglary at a home around 7:30 p.m. on October 7. It lists the theft of $20,000 in cash and $1000 in damage to a door. The home reportedly belongs to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
According to reports, the FBI is investigating both burglaries, but the agency has neither confirmed nor denied the reports. However, sources say that Patrick Mahomes upgraded the security in his home after the break-in.
