Mychelle Johnson, the wife of Charlotte Hornets player Miles Bridges, broke her silence today and shared the harrowing aftermath of an alleged domestic violence attack that landed the basketball player in jail.
In a series of Instagram posts, Johnson described the sickening abuse she allegedly suffered at the hands of Bridges, writing: “I hate that it has come to this but I can’t be silent anymore. I’ve allowed someone to destroy my home, abuse me in every way possible and traumatize our kids for life.”
Johnson’s brave decision to speak out comes after months of alleged abuse at the hands of her husband. The 24-year-old mother says she hopes her story will help others who may be suffering in silence.

Miles Bridges will start his fifth season with the Charlotte Hornets. Originally from Flint, Michigan he is a key player for Hornets last season, appearing in 80 games and leading the Hornets with an average of 20.2 points per game.
On Wednesday, Charlotte offered Bridges a qualifying offer, making him a restricted free agent. This means that while other teams can make offers for his services, the Hornets have the right to match any offers and keep him on their team.
Bridges was fined $50,000 last season for striking a fan using his mouthpiece following a play-in game in April.
