Celebrity singer Michelle Branch was detained for allegedly striking her ex-husband, Patrick Carney, in the face, amid her allegations that he had cheated on the pop singer, following their recent estrangement. She repeatedly slapped him, according to reports.
Police were called to their home on Thursday at around 2 AM for a potential domestic disturbance, according to documents from Nashville that TMZ was able to obtain. According to court documents, Michelle acknowledged slapping Patrick “one to two times” in the face.
The songwriter was taken into custody, and Patrick had no obvious wounds. The couple’s 6-month-old child’s bail was set at $1,000, and it appears that she was released from custody early due to breastfeeding.
