Colby Ryan, the son of Lori Vallow Daybell, was detained in Arizona on suspicion of committing sex crimes. Cult mom Lori is accused of killing two of her children in order to collect their social security payments, reports say.
On Saturday, 26-year-old Ryan was taken into custody on suspicion of two charges of sexual assault at home. He was being held on a $10,000 bail when he was processed into the Maricopa County Jail, and has been reportedly charged with domestic violence sexual assault. Ryan’s alleged offenses occurred on August 31, though the claimed victim did not report the event until September 2, according to court papers.
Investigators claim that Ryan visited the house of the accused victim and they watched TV together before having consensual sexual intercourse. The alleged victim repeatedly asked Ryan to stop because she did not want to have sex. Ryan allegedly disregarded her request and continued to assault her. After the encounter, when the victim allegedly told him that she was not okay with what Ryan had done, Ryan said he was sorry and started to cry.
The next day, he agreed to a verbal confession of rape, which the victim recorded, according to the records. After his Miranda warning was read, he admitted to the assault verbally in a police interview, despite the victim repeatedly telling him to stop.
Ryan is the sole surviving kid of Lori Vallow Daybell, who was charged with the murders of two of her children after they vanished in 2019. In Idaho, she and her fifth husband Chad Daybell are accused with multiple counts of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder for the deaths of Ryan’s siblings seven-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and sixteen-year-old Tylee Ryan. Chad and Lori Daybell have both entered a not-guilty plea. Fans are very upset about what he has done.
In 2018, Lori and Chad Daybell allegedly developed end-of-the-world ideas that included connecting with other dimensions and the existence of “zombies” and utilized strange religious views to defend their murders.
Ryan is set to be the subject of a new Netflix docuseries titled Sins of Our Mother that delves into the family’s twisted history. The series is set to premiere on Sept. 14.
