
Lauren Sanchez Bezos, wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has announced $102 million in new grants for the year, and this has been distributed to 32 nonprofits across the US. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Bezos founded the nonprofit the Day 1 Families Fund. It has made a commitment of $2 billion in grants to non-profits fighting homelessness.
Lauren Sanchez Bezos made the recent announcement on Monday on Good Morning America. She said that they were able to give more than one hundred million dollars this year and that “it makes a huge impact.”
The author and philanthropist called it “just the beginning” and said that they would continue to do so, as they had made a 2 billion commitment. She also said that they have an incredible group of advisers. And that they have been able to give to all 50 states, and that the advisers tell them the needs of nonprofits like Community of Hope.
The author and entrepreneur, who is concentrating on philanthropy as well as supporting the various ventures of her husband Jeff Bezos, also posted about the $102 million in grants on her social media page.
She posted a video of her interactions with the Community of Hope. She wrote, “No child should sleep outside.”
She also shared that the mission of the Community of Hope in Washington DC wasn’t “just inspiring” but was also “incredibly important.”
Lauren Sanchez Bezos is also the Vice Chair of the Bezos Earth Fund and Jeff Bezos is the Chair. She posts videos and images about the activities of the Bezos Earth Fund including its recent AI grand challenge on social media. The fund recently announced $30 million in new investments that will use AI for a range of activities “to tackle biodiversity loss, climate change, or food insecurity.”
