Kate Beckinsale was “sickened” by the Baftas’s cold email received after her stepfather’s death. Days after her late stepfather’s death, Kate Beckinsale received a “cold and distressing” message about his possible removal from the show’s In Memoriam. She is urging the BAFTA board to amend its email policy in response.
Beckinsale’s mother, Judy Loe, was married to her stepfather, Roy Battersby, a skilled television director renowned for his work on series like Cracker, A Touch of Frost, King of the Ghetto, and Inspector Morse.

Kate was devastated earlier this week to learn that Roy, who received the 1996 BAFTA Alan Clarke Award, might not be honored during the In Memoriam portion of the award ceremony at the event in London the following month.

After receiving a “very cold email” from the organization, Kate admitted feeling “paralyzed, sick, and sickened.”
She said in another Instagram post that she had yet to receive an apology and that other family members of celebrities had received similarly harsh emails.
