The domestic incident that occurred in March between celebrity actor Jonathan Majors and his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari is the basis for the trial, which got underway on December 4. Majors entered a not-guilty plea to misdemeanor charges of harassment and violence.
After final remarks on Thursday, the jury got to work deliberating. Before making a decision, they pondered for nearly four and a half hours.
According to Manhattan prosecutors, the nine-member jury found the actor guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment in connection with an incident that took place on March 25 between Majors and his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
The judge scheduled the sentencing for February 6 and issued a new order of protection in the wake of the verdict.
At the trial, Majors was never on the stand, but his ex-girlfriend Jabari took the stand to testify in her defense. She was seen sobbing deeply as she left the courtroom after an emotional testimony about her claim of physical abuse.
Majors could face up to one year in jail.
