Celebrity singer John Mayer, who was a close friend of late actor Bob Saget recently dreamt about his friend. He woke up ‘crying like a baby’ because he saw his friend. He recalled the dream during his appearance on Dirty Daddy: The Bob Saget Tribute on streaming platform, Netflix. Actor, comedian Bob Saget’s closest friends appeared on the tribute.
The Grammy winner detailed the sequence of the dream. He said that he saw a young “Bob” and that they dined in a restaurant familiar to the Gravity singer. He said that he told Bob, “You gotta know how much I love you.”
Mayer continued and said that Bob said, “Yeah, I know, fine.” This made the 44-year old guitarist repeat himself and say, “No, I’m telling you. You gotta know how much I love you.”
Mayer said that he had cried like a baby after he got up. He added that he had also said, “I love you, Bob, but I got to go back to sleep.”
Mayer then impersonated Saget’s voice and said that he heard him say, “Go back to sleep, go back to sleep. You have to go back to sleep, you have to. You have stuff tomorrow.”
Mayer concluded by saying that the dream sequence was similar to the magic when Bob Saget had been there with them. The celebrity singer said that he had learnt that it was “not a jump to go from here to there.”
The 44-year old guitarist added that there was nothing different about how we accessed the people we loved whether they were “there” (were up in the heavens) or “here” (down on earth).
Saget died at the age of 66. The tribute to him was filmed at the Comedy Store located in West Hollywood, early this year. Others who attended included his friends and fellow comedians.
Celebrity actor John Stamos, Saget’s co-star in Full House shared final text messages that he had received from Bob. These texts threw a little shade on Mayer, whom he called a “more fair-weather friend.”
The “Your Body is a Wonderland” singer laughed along with the audience. John Mayer proved to be a good friend as he paid for a private plane to bring Bob Saget’s body from Florida to California. He also drove the celebrity actor-comedian’s car back to his home from LAX airport, along with Jeff Ross.
