The latest announcement that she will be holding a second auction with the help of a reputed fashion house has created a buzz. Fans and followers can put in bids for more than 800 items from her personal collection of clothes, on-stage outfits, CDs, microphones and even a car that she owned.
The auction of Janet Jackson’s items that have created music history was reported by the Evening Standard. The auction will be conducted by Julien’s Auctions. It will take place live on May 21, 2023, at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York. Those who cannot be physically present can place bids online on the auctioneer’s website.

Some of the items that will be auctioned can be viewed by the public at different locations according to the outlet. Items that are expected to go on auction include the outfit the celebrity American singer-songwriter wore during her Rhythm Nation Tour as well the one she wore in the video of the 1993 That’s The Way Love Goes. Another popular item is a white, long-sleeved puckered shirt. Janet Jackson wore this for the music video of the track Scream with her legendary brother, the one and only Michael Jackson.

The 56-year-old legend is also offering other music memorabilia such as bedazzled microphones as well as CDs that commemorate the platinum status of her record-breaking albums. Other unique items that super fans can buy in the auction are an old car of hers and an old bed frame. Janet Jackson’s 2003 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish and a bed frame made of rosewood and leather is also up for grabs at the right price.
Janet Jackson and the auction house also said that part of the proceeds would be donated to Compassion International, a global child advocacy group. The group has also benefited from an earlier auction by both the parties in May 2021.
