Celebrity actress and activist Jamie Lee Curtis has condemned rapper Kanye West’s “antisemitic” tweet posted over the weekend. She was seen fighting back her tears on TODAY Monday as she expressed reproach on Kanye West’s weekend post that said he was going to “go death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.” Ye, the stage name of Kanye West, attracted a lot of backlash after the tweet, which Twitter has now removed.
Additionally, he claimed that he “can’t be anti-Semitic” as “black people are actually Jews too.” Curtis, who responded to Ye’s remark on Twitter on Sunday, admitted to Hoda Kotb that she started crying on seeing the post. According to her, the fact that fascism is spreading throughout the world is bad enough. “But on Twitter, on a portal, to pour that in?” This happened when the rapper’s tweet proclaiming war on Jews was brought up by host Hoda Kotb when the actress was on The Today Show promoting the most recent episode of her horror series, Halloween Ends.
According to October 8 reports, a representative for Meta, Instagram’s parent company, said that after West posted a different message that some groups deemed “anti-Jewish,” Instagram removed the message and blocked the account. On October 9, a Twitter representative reportedly verified that West’s account had been suspended for breaking the social media platform’s rules. Curtis, whose father, actor Tony Curtis, was Jewish, denounced West’s statement and shared a screenshot of his since-deleted tweet.
The holiest day in Judaism was last week. Words matter. A threat to Jewish people ended once in a genocide. Your words hurt and incite violence. You are a father. Please stop. pic.twitter.com/8iFuKwwspw

The actress, who termed his post as ‘abhorrent’ wrote that Judaism’s holiest day occurred last week, that words have power, and that once, a threat against Jews led to genocide. She went on addressing Ye, saying that his remarks “hurt and incite violence.” She requested him to stop doing so.
The celebrity rapper’s social media remarks were deleted, and he has not made any public comments since. The episode this past weekend was the most recent of West’s deleted or unpublished tweets and Instagram posts that sparked criticism. Kim Kardashian, Ye’s ex-wife, claimed on Instagram in July that West suffers from bipolar disorder after he sent a string of since-deleted tweets claiming she was trying to get him hospitalized. At the time, West did not respond to Kardashian’s remarks.
