American celebrity actress Jada Pinkett Smith is thinking aloud about her husband Will Smith’s relationship with Chris Rock, two months after Will punched the comedian in the face at the 2022 Academy Awards.
On Wednesday’s Red Table Talk episode, the 50-year-old stated at the start of the show that she deeply wished that the two celebrities air out their feelings and “reconcile.” The Girls Trip actress said that the world needs them both.
After the Oscars moment triggered fervent conversations about her hair-loss problem, she welcomed members of the alopecia community to her Facebook Watch series “Red Table Talk.”
Pinkett Smith’s husband, Will Smith, slapped presenter Chris Rock at the Academy Awards in March after he made a joke about Pinkett Smith’s close-cropped hairdo as a result of alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss.
On Oscar night, Rock made a joke about Jada’s shaved head, which prompted Will to walk onstage and strike the comedian. The Academy barred the actor from future ceremonies and related events for ten years after he slapped comedian Rock onstage during the March ceremony.
Will has publicly apologized to Rock since the event, claiming that he “reacted emotionally” because the joke about Jada’s physical condition was too much for him to handle. Will received the Best Actor award for his portrayal of King Richard.
In addition, the former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor withdrew from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Will then travel to India to practice yoga and meditation, according to sources.
Jada broke her social media blackout two days after the event. On her Instagram grid, she stated that this was the season for healing and that she and her family will address the aftermath of Will’s Oscars incident on her talk show when the appropriate time comes. The Smith family has been concentrating on profound healing.
