Celebrity influencer and model Abby Choi’s ex-husband and in-laws have been detained and charged with crimes in association with her death. Following reports that police had discovered what they believe to be pieces of the dismembered body of Hong Kong model Abby Choi, four members of the same family who have been charged in association with her horrific murder appeared in court on Monday, according to reports.

The accusers are her ex-husband Alex Kwong, his sibling Anthony, and their father, Kwong Kau. According to RTHK, Jenny Li, the mother of Alex Kwong, 63, is accused of perverting the path of justice. None of them were granted parole. A 47-year-old woman was also detained on Sunday in relation with the case, according to the police. She is the fifth suspect. The court postponed the case until May 8 to enable for additional police investigation.

The celebrity influencer, who had more than 100,000 Instagram followers, allegedly has a son and a daughter with her ex-husband, who have both been given into her mother’s custody, according to CNN. Choi had most recently graced the face of the Monaco fashion publication L’Officiel Monaco prior to her passing. In her final Instagram post before passing away, Choi shared the cover and stated that her “journey as a style icon endures.”

Alan Chung, the crime section superintendent for the regional police, stated that Choi’s body parts were found inside the refrigerator, but not all had been found. He said that they were still looking for the head, torso, and hands. They believe that the suspect had disposed of some body parts.

A skull and several ribs were later discovered in a cooking pot in the refrigerator at the same Tai Po residence where other body parts had previously been found, the police later verified on Sunday.
According to RTHK, police claimed that forensics specialists discovered a hole in the woman’s skull thought to have been caused by a hard object, which is what led to her death. CNN reported that other items discovered at the Tai Po home included a meat slicer, an electric saw, and some clothing. Alex Kwong, Choi’s ex-husband and she reportedly had financial disagreements.
