Although United indicated that he was not for sale, many fans have reacted with resignation to the news and said that the club should “let him go.” The legendary footballer, who has won five Ballon D’Or, wants to leave as he wishes to spend the final years of his sports career in Champions League football.
The 37-year old footballer returned to United last year. His contract will be up in 2023. However, the English club failed to qualify for the next season Champions League.
