Errol Musk, Elon Musk’s father, called into Australia’s Kyle and Jackie O Show on Monday morning for a bizarre 20-minute interview. In a candid radio interview, Elon Musk’s Billionaire Son father admitted he is not proud of his billionaire son, does not drive a Tesla, and explained his marriage and having children with his stepdaughter.
Elon Musk’s father told the hosts that his son had ‘surpassed the mark’ of what he considered a success, but that the Musk family had ‘done a lot of things for him.’ He downplayed Elon’s success and mocked his physical appearance, claiming that he even advised the 50-year-old to take diet pills after seeing shirtless photos of him on a boat in Greece. When asked where Elon got his genius, he first deferred, suggesting that it could have come from the milkman, rather than Errol or Mother Maye.
Elon is the senior Musk’s eldest son from his first marriage to Maye Musk. The couple also has a son, Kimbal and a daughter, Tosca. Errol described Kimbal as his “pride and joy” during the interview. He also stated that Kimbal was a billionaire, though not nearly as wealthy as Elon Musk, the world’s richest man. Kimbal Musk, 49, is an American chef and restaurateur who owns The Kitchen Restaurant Group.
Errol also has five other children from previous relationships, including his two youngest sons and a daughter with his 34-year-old stepdaughter, Jana Bezuidenhout. When asked about their unusual relationship, the self-proclaimed “ladies’ man” insisted it was “completely normal,” despite the 42-year age difference and Bezuidenhout being his stepchild.
During the interview, Errol stated that his son Elon believes he is five years behind schedule in his career, and he agreed with that assessment. He feels that Elon is frustrated with progress, though it may sound crazy. The senior Musk also revealed that he was concerned that Elon, who has nine children with four different women but is currently single, will be unable to find a partner who would be willing to give up a career to be with him full-time.
When asked if he drove a Tesla, Errol revealed that his stable of luxury vehicles did not include one of his son’s popular electric cars, instead owned a Bentley, a Rolls-Royce, and a Mercedes. According to Errol Musk, his son, despite being the world’s richest man, does not extend handouts freely.
