Celebrity Drake has canceled a Sunday, August 6 performance at the FedEx Forum in Memphis. The show was canceled as they found the arena, which is the home of NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, had logistic problems. Although TicketMaster is refunding all tickets to the original method of payment, web fans are very disappointed.
The 39-year-old native of Toronto was to perform at Memphis earlier on June 29 with 21 Savage that was also part of “It’s All A Blur” tour but that was also postponed. Drake was in the city as he had accepted a ceremonial key to Shelby County
Memphis is where the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977. Celebrity Drake’s father, drummer Dennis Graham is also from Memphis.
According to Commercial Appeal, Drake’s representatives released the following statement: “Due to the magnitude of the production of the Drake concert, it is logistically impossible to bring the show as designed to the FedExForum on August 6th. Unfortunately, the show is canceled.”
The local paper and site have also said that the Canadian-American celebrity rapper said of Bluff City, “It’s really the first place I discovered what I love about music, which was the soul, the melody and the message in the lyrics.”
Celebrity rapper Drake began his career as a child actor in a popular show called “DeGrassi: The Next Generation, but soon moved to music. Drake has received four Grammy awards and cut multiple platinum rap and pop albums. He comes from a family of musicians that includes his dad and uncles.

Celebrity Drake has two more shows in Nashville, Tennessee on October 1 and October 2. These events at the Bridgestone Arena are expected to go forward as planned.
Drake and 21 Savage will be appearing at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on August 1. They will also appear at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on August 4. The Friday show was earlier slated to be on Thursday August 3. Web fans are looking forward to these events.
