According to reports, Cher has requested conservatorship over her son Elijah Blue Allman because of his alleged drug usage and mental health problems.
According to the court documents, which were submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court, Mr. Allman is “currently unable to manage his assets due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues.”
Court documents show, “Elijah is entitled to regular distributions from the trust, but given his ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues, Cher is concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will be immediately spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself and putting Elijah’s life at risk.”
The paperwork further states: “Elijah is entitled to regular distributions from the trust but given his ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues, [Cher] is concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will be immediately spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself and putting Elijah’s life at risk.”
As said in the statement, Cher has “worked tirelessly to get Elijah into treatment and get him the help he needs.”
According to the filing, “Cher loves Elijah immensely and has always acted with his best interests in mind.” However, due to his “current mental and physical health issues,” she has not been “able to discuss his preferences concerning the appointment of a temporary conservator.”
Before the year ends, Mr. Allman is supposed to receive funds from a trust. As per TMZ, the records indicate that he is eligible for periodic disbursements from the trust established by his deceased father, singer Gregg Allman.
