Longtime friends celebrity model Cara Delevingne and singer-actor Selena Gomez have surprised fans and followers. In a scene from the second season of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, they are seen kissing, adding spice to the already great show. Looks like the two celebrities are fictionalizing their long-standing friendship.
Years after co-starring in Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video, the lifelong friends have reunited for Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building. Fans were thrilled to learn that Cara Delevingne would be joining the cast as an “art world insider” who eventually develops a romance with the character played by Gomez. The thought of her playing star Selena Gomez’s love interest, was exciting, intriguing and entertaining for Delevingne as well as her fans.
Delevingne said that she was proud to be playing a gay character because she is pansexual herself. Being allowed to portray a queer part meant so much to her, she explained. According to her, it was incredibly exciting to represent that and working alongside a close buddy is enjoyable. Cara spoke about the significance of representing a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
Talking to E! network show, While You Were Streaming, the model stated that the kissing was “just fun” and anyone in the world would like to kiss Selena. While Delevingne appeared to have a good time, several fans felt that Gomez did not. A video of the two of them kissing in the play went viral on Twitter Wednesday, and not because the two women were having “fun.”
Fans described the kiss as “awkward” and “uncomfortable,” pleading with Gomez to smile and open her mouth a little more! According to one Twitter user, there was “heterosexuality radiating off Selena” in the scene.
Gomez and Delevingne initially met when they were 15 years old and have maintained a strong connection ever since. The duo has given countless glimpses of their friendship on social media, in addition to hanging out with mutual pals at various events over the years, including the 2015 MTV VMAs, where “Bad Blood” won the video of the year award.
