On Saturday, two powerful Americans got married in an exclusive hotel in the U.S. Sheryl Sandberg, who is a celebrity author and former COO of Facebook, now called Meta Platforms married Tom Bernthal, the founder and former chief executive of Kelton Global, who also happens to be the brother of celebrity Hollywood actor Jon Bernthal. The wedding took place at the Four Seasons resort, in Jackson Hole, located in the mountains of Wyoming.
The luxury ski resort that was totally booked by the wedding party included several A-listers and celebrity guests, one of whom was Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken. There is no confirmation, as yet, if Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan attended the wedding, although the former Facebook COO has mentioned that she remained close to them. Although she stepped down from the post of COO of Meta, she remains a board member.
Other celebrity guests included Hollywood actor Jon Bernthal, who is the sibling of the groom as well as several tech giants and powerful leaders from Washington D.C. Family also played an important role as all five of their children (combined from former spouses) were an integral part of the wedding ceremony.
Late Saturday night, Sheryl Sandberg shared a photo of herself and her husband and captioned the post “MARRIED” followed by several red heart emojis. This is the second marriage for the 52-year old former COO and the 50-year old CEO.
The couple, who have shared interests including country music, had gotten engaged in a ranch. The groom had western touches including cowboy boots and jeans. However, the wedding photo posted on Instagram showed Sheryl in an exquisite white gown while Tom wore a classic black suit.
Sheryl Sandberg and Tom Bernthal asked their wealthy guests to donate to VOW and CARE, instead of giving them weddings gifts. These organizations fund programs that include anti-child marriage and poverty alleviation ones. Sheryl Sandberg, the celebrity author of Lean In, who is also a philanthropist, told PEOPLE that they had raised $10 million for CARE and $1 million for VOW.
