Celebrity Alyson Stoner went to rehab after losing out on Hunger Games audition

Celebrity Alyson Stoner recently spoke of the struggles she had faced early in her career. The American actress frankly shared many first time experiences as well as other details including a stint at rehab, after she didn’t pass the audition for Hunger Games, a role that eventually went to Jennifer Lawrence.

The actress became famous after she acted in the movie Cheaper by the Dozen, released in 2003. In an interview with Access Hollywood, the Step Up celebrity spoke of how she had to go to rehab as she became obsessed over the audition she took part in. She had auditioned for the role of Katniss Everdeen, which was later played by celebrity Jennifer Lawrence in the first film of the Hunger Games trilogy.

Alyson Stoner said that her commitment was so great that she took part in extremely intense physical training. She put herself in a restrictive diet that affected her hair, which fell out and her skin, which became sallow. She was also medically underweight, The celebrity star realized that she was getting obsessed about these behaviors and realized that she needed help. So, she checked herself into rehab.

The 28-year old celebrity expressed her gratitude for the fact that she was fortunate to have access to support. She noted that many people didn’t have such access.

Alyson Stoner also spoke of her early years as a Disney star. She was a dancer in the original music video track Work It. She also said that most of her “formative experiences happened on camera.” She said that her first kiss was on camera. She had to kiss in front a bunch of strangers who filmed it.

She also spoke of going through puberty and being asked to behave in ways that were “mature and inappropriate.” Other child stars have also spoken of their discomfort in performing mature scenes in front of strangers.

The celebrity star has lent her voice to Pete the Cat, a series on TV. She was also a part of animated series “The Guardians of Justice (Will Save You). Alyson Stoner has started her own digital business called Movement Genius. It aims to support mental health improvements using movement.
