Celebrity Al Pacino announced that he is publishing a memoir, and web fans are excited. The Godfather is expected to drop a few, if not many, revealing and personal anecdotes and more from his long and legendary life and career. The 83-year-old Hollywood actor has seen and heard more than many of his peers in Hollywood but has also said that he would reveal personal details in the upcoming memoir.
The memoir Sonny Boy is set for an Oct 8 release. It will be available as a traditional book, an ebook, and an audio version narrated by the actor. Publisher Penguin Random House UK called the book a “memoir of a man who has nothing left to fear and nothing left to hide.”
The publisher also said the memoir mentions “all the great roles, the essential collaborations, and the important relationships” that have been part of Al Pacino’s life. The book titled Sonny Boy will also give these crucial moments of his life “their full due.”
Al Pacino grew up in the South Bronx, New York City, and studied acting at the Herbert Berghof Studio there. He has a long and illustrious career in Hollywood, with nine Academy Award nominations. The Godfather of Hollywood won an Oscar for Scarface. He was also nominated for a Golden Globe award nineteen times and won four Globes.
Al Pacino’s announcement of his memoir Sonny Boy comes a day after his controversial announcement of Best Picture at the Oscar Awards ceremony held on Sunday at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. He announced the winner without naming the nominations and without the expected fanfare, though it is not unusual as Al Pacino is known to be untraditional. He announced Oppenheimer as the Best Picture, a film that was predicted to win by CWEB.
The next day, he clarified that he was asked not to mention the nominated films, as the producers had chosen to do so, as each movie had been highlighted during the 2024 Oscar Awards ceremony.
