Suzanne Somers passed away on October 15 at the age of 76, with her husband Alan Hamel, son Bruce Somers Jr., 57, and other close family members at her side, according to a statement released by her publicist, R. Couri Hay.
He said, “She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years,” noting that her 77th birthday was on October 16. “They will celebrate her extraordinary life, and want to thank her millions of fans and followers who loved her dearly.”
On the morning of her 77th birthday, the “Three’s Company” star passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was initially diagnosed with skin cancer in the year 2000. Some people questioned her choice to rely on a chemical-free and organic lifestyle to fight the tumours.
The Rockford Files, Magnum Force, and The Six Million Dollar Man were just a few of the 1970s shows on which Somers’s guest-starred; however, her breakout role came on ABC’s “Three’s Company,” which ran from 1977 until 1984.
