The Toronto Ultra became the first team to reach 2-0 in qualifying for Major II by beating the Florida Mutineers on Sunday.
Toronto won 3-1, while the Los Angeles Guerrillas beat the Los Angeles Thieves 3-1 and OpTic Texas outlasted the Boston Breach 3-2.
Major II, which will include all 12 Call of Duty League teams, is scheduled to be played in Boston from Feb. 2-5. Qualifying for the event continues through Jan. 29.
The Ultra opened with a 250-165 victory on Mercado Hardpoint, but Florida countered with a 6-1 trouncing on El Asilo Search and Destroy. Toronto then swept Fortress Control 3-0 and clinched the win with a 250-191 result on Hotel Hardpoint.
The Guerrillas took a 2-0 edge on their L.A. rivals by winning 250-153 on Embassy Hardpoint and 6-4 on El Asilo Search and Destroy. The Thieves got on the board with a 3-1 decision on Fortress Control, but the Guerrillas cruised to a 250-199 clinching win on Fortress Hardpoint.
Texas and Boston traded blows, with OpTic starting out with a 250-180 win on Hotel Hardpoint and the Breach countering 6-2 on Embassy Search and Destroy. OpTic earned a 3-1 victory on Hotel Control and the Breach tied it by eking out a 250-244 win on Embassy Hardpoint. It came down to Mercado Search and Destroy, where Texas pulled away for a 6-3 result.
