The Los Angeles Thieves never trailed en route to a 4-2 victory over OpTic Texas on Sunday to win the Call of Duty League’s Major IV.

With the victory, Los Angeles won $200,000 and earned 65 Call of Duty League points. As runner-up, OpTic received $120,000 and 50 CDL points.

The Thieves got off to a strong start, sandwiching wins on Zarqwa Hyrdroelectric Hardpoint (250-200) and Himmelmatt Expo Control (3-1) around a 6-3 loss on Breenbergh Hotel Search and Destroy.

Texas evened the match at 2-2 by way of a 250-138 triumph on Al Bagra Fortress Hardpoint, but Los Angeles cruised from there, picking up a 6-4 victory on El Asilo Search and Destroy before locking down the title with a 3-2 win on El Asilo Control.

The Thieves squared off with Texas earlier Sunday, in the winners bracket final, and won 3-1. OpTic fell behind 2-0 and stole a 3-1 victory on Himmelmatt Expo Control before Los Angeles used a 250-149 win on Mercado Las Almas Hardpoint to advance to the grand final.

Dylan “Envoy” Hannon led the all-American Thieves with 63 kills and a plus-1.21 kills-deaths ratio, while Canadian Brandon “Dashy” Otell paced Texas with 53 kills and a plus-1.13 differential.

That loss sent OpTic to the elimination bracket final for a meeting with the Atlanta FaZe, who beat the New York Subliners 3-2 in a fourth-round matchup. Texas was too much to handle for the FaZe, as OpTic earned a 3-0 sweep with wins on Mercado Las Almas Hardpoint (250-101), Mercado Las Almas Search and Destroy (6-3) and El Asilo Control (3-2).

Three of OpTic’s four players finished with a K-D ratio in the green, led by Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro, who piled up 61 kills to go along with a plus-1.27 differential. Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat tallied a team-high 50 kills for the all-American FaZe.
